Sara Yerry
Founder & Executive Director
Sara is a New York City Teaching Fellow and has worked as a bilingual educator in East Harlem since 2004. She holds an M.A. in bilingual childhood education and a dual degree from Brown University in psychology and Hispanic studies. Growing up, Sara studied ballet and tap dance for 10 years. She also recently resumed her study of the piano after a six year break.
Aaron Halegua
Co-Founder & Board Member
Aaron is a Skadden Fellow at the Legal Aid Society in New York City where he represents immigrant workers in labor and employment matters. He holds a B.A. in international relations from Brown University, where he met Sara, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. Aaron lived in China for several years and speaks, reads and writes Mandarin Chinese. He and Marc played in soccer and basketball leagues together while growing up on Long Island.
Marc Alter
Co-Founder & Board Member
Marc is an entrepreneur with experience starting and operating several content-based websites. Previously, Marc was a financial analyst at both Citigroup and Paragon Capital Partners. He was also deeply involved with Minds Matter, a program that connects urban professional mentors with underprivileged high-school students. Marc holds a B.A. in economics and international relations from the University of Pennsylvania. He also enjoys meeting other New Yorkers through his intramural football and kickball activities.
